I am SO EXCITED to be back at Seattle's superb and very chill Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival this year! The whole experience is truly a highlight to my year. Besides the amaaaaaazing music and comedy performances, there are wonderful thought-provoking panels, films, art installations, an indie market, delicious foods, and more fun than anyone can HANDLE! Best of all, I get to spend a weekend hanging out with so many of my dear music writer and photo pals, old and new. I'll work hard to bring you as many cool pix as I can! Let's get started!!
My pal Kitty said I MUST attend Diamond Rings' set on the Tunein Stage, so that was my first show of the day. She was right -- his flamboyant, energetic performance (along with a spot-on '80s look) was a blast to shoot! (Click on the photos to enlarge and click on the Flickr links for more!)

I always really enjoy any of the shows at the intimate KEXP Bumbershoot Music Lounge, and there is always a special electricity during these short sets, broadcast live. Having seen and shot Gary Numan before, I knew he would deliver. I stayed for the whole set and loved it. He rocks. If you missed hearing this or any of the KEXP Bumbershoot broadcasts, check out their archives!

Heading over to the very sunny Starbucks Stage next, I enjoyed ZZ Ward's equally-sunny and warm voice. For a little thang, she's got such a rich, big sound. I also dig her floppy hat. Very cool.
